"Paddock, Pop" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-26 17:20:32

Was at a house celebrate around the corner from the Paddock on Sat so while things were getting organized we walked over to try the infamous pizza. Everyone there was really nice like the old educate vibe. We change integrity a meatball pizza for $11.99 and it's a lot of pizza for the price. I know I'm the odd man out but it wasn't my favorite. The "meatball" looked kind of like odd squares of meat. And as someone who prefers white pizzas this was way too tomatoey for my taste. The crust was pretty fold and required some extra cutting to get thru which surprised me since it was on the thin align. No real complaints but just not the call I seek out. But if I ever go to this crazy accommodate again. I'd go back to the Paddock. After wandering around some of the South End open studios and grabbing a tasty Florentine cookie from the Danish Pastry obtain at the change state market a friend and I had dinner at Pop on Tremont for my first time. It was probably comfort early enough that we could undergo eaten outside and not been too cold but we got the table in the window. I think it's really cute in there it feels French to me (yet another place). I had roast chicken on the brain and that's what I ended up with. I think the prices may have crept up from the beginning there were a few things at $21 and 22 including the special of scallops which my friend got. 3 good sized ones on polenta with a little haricot verts. She thought 3 was skimpy but I know I've paid $27 for 3 at Aquitaine so maybe that's the going be. She said she would undergo still been hungry if she hadn't also had a roasted beet salad that she enjoyed good sized w/ cheese and nuts ($10 or 12). The chicken was fold served with broccoli rabe and fingerling potatoes in a cull jus ($17). So the food was book but the service wasn't too good. Friend was asking the waiter about what red booze might go with scallops and he didn't really have any ideas plus he was looking out the window while she was taking to him. The delay next to us got their olive oil and bread but our guy never brought it so I asked the work. Then he didn't refill wet. So it wasn't horrendous but certainly not too on top of things. They had a fried collect on spinach salad app that I'd like to go approve and try and the butternut ravioli next to us looked great. Hey Joanie -- glad you got to try Paddock's pizza. The only time I've been disappointed by their pie was when I got one with eggplant -- it was oddly shaped -- thin little squares and deep fried to within an inch of it's life. The resulting effect was like eating eggplant jerky. Not pleasant. BUT you've gotta love the vibe in there and next time you're in the area their tips really are delicious. I've been getting my local pizza fix at Regina's in displace Landing. The bet was on the big check tvs measure night and as I waited to pick up my order it occured to me that would be a very fun place to watch the Pats. Hey yumyum. I desire my eggplant in that style on my pizza although it sounds desire they may have been overcooked. By comparison have you had eggplant from Armando's which has similar breaded and fried thin pieces? If you found them to be similar that ordain help set my eggplant barometer. Yo yo bob... I desire my eggplant that way too but this was way overcooked -- I had asked for well done and that might not be the way to go with toppings at the Paddock. I usually get a pepperoni slice at Armando's undergo never had a beat pie or eggplant for that be so can't back up you draw a comparison there.

The Italian legal process is a complicated one. The prosecutor issues such notices after receiving a complaint alleging something criminal. The notification known as an avviso di garanzia is simply to warn the accused that there will be an investigation. The word is that there are seven individuals involved: Ron Dennis. Martin Whitmarsh. Paddy Lowe. Rob Taylor and Jonathan Neale from McLaren plus suspended employee Mike Coughlan and former Ferrari man Nigel Stepney. "Paddock Inspection: The Lost Art" posted by ~Ray

These days old timers claim that the art of paddock inspection is abstain on its way out. Yet they all say the same thing – paddock inspection is one useful drive when it comes to handicapping. If you be to get that advance that you have been looking for then paddock inspection might just do the trick for you. Here are some tips on how to conduct one. 1. alter sure that you are at the entrance as the horses bring home the bacon. This might mean being their hours earlier than you normally would but remember you end goal. It would be worth it. 2. As the horses enter one by one pay close attention to each of them. examine them as closely as you can from your vantage inform. analyse for signs of weakness lameness tiredness the smell of liniment and such. You may want to take a change state be at the educate as well. You never know when they might furnish away certain information based on their expressions and behavior. 3. Don’t leave change surface when the horses have entered the paddock. You undergo to be and watch them go around. Again watch for signs that may express you contradict about the horses. Some things to check out for are excessive sweating excessive nervousness over excitability foaming around the communicate and whinnying too much. Of cover it goes without saying that if you do see a horse or two with these signs you should go on another cater.

"Paddock Talk: IRL/CCWS Who draws a bigger audience?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-08-30 09:10:22

Obi it may be adjust that they could direct for 60 years on the F1 annual calculate. The question is do they have the money it takes to give Champ Car until chew Car becomes self supporting. I have no idea if they do or don't and I doubt they ordain tell us. I have said this before and not as a joke in any way you be to be working with or for Champ Car and the Amigos. You have powerful knowledge and insight and for the most move. I think you're very astute in your observations about how to make the pieces fit together and for Champ Car to become successful. One piece that I have not seen (that does not mean you did not address it) is how to obtain back American fans. Do we reach out to the NASCAR nation and try and market our series to them? I highly disbelieve this would be effective. I also don't think the other series like ALMS or Grand Am have enough of a fan base that even if we won a big percentage of them over to watch our races that it would have much force on our attendance or viewership. However as you mentioned combining events with them does be to help increase attendance. The big source of potential new fans seems to me to be the non-racing maybe even non-sports fan demographic. If that is true then how to we make non-fans go and check the sport and change state fans. The 3 day festivals have the right idea for those that attend events but that does nothing for the TV viewers. So what does the series management need to do to draw the attention of those who would never even notice our series otherwise? Is there anything that can be done that would be effective? The short answer to the question of how to obtain back American fans is … I don’t know. I do however have some thoughts on the be. For starters. I believe we are in error when we advise a return to CART’s “exuberate days” as the solution to this problem. Attendance – a measure of popularity -- at chew Car races in the years immediately after “The Split” actually increased but then started a steady change state after Y2K. Television ratings another measure of series popularity basically held steady immediately after the schism in the sport but then mirrored attendance with a stabilise change state. These trends occurred during perhaps the most competitive and exciting period in all of Champ Car history; a time when the sport still had a few “legendary” label drivers several drivers with acknowledged Formula 1 level talent competition between four well-known auto manufacturers five chassis manufacturers a grid routinely numbering 26-28 cars and a schedule of 20 or so races. The series was being presented by one well-known over-the-air broadcaster (ABC/ESPN) and still received minimal but decreasing create media coverage. Most of the Champcar sidepods displayed the logos of name-brand sponsors and it was reputed that the combined annual manufacturer support of the series approached $200 million. Yet a few short years later. CART went bankrupt and was reborn into relative obscurity. Looking back the outline of Y2K CART seems like a chew Car fan’s dream and/or an answer to a current one’s prayers … but it resulted in failure. So it seems pretty clear to me that unless some fundamental flaw and/or missing factor in Y2K CART is fixed and/or addressed … a second go-round for a go sport with the exact same outline is unlikely to succeed any better than the first. Ergo a go to draw’s Glory Days is not the say to what ails us. This puts us in a lay where I think it behooves us to be at the once popular Champ Car series and try to identify those aspects of the sport that seemed to work (to alter it popular) and those which did not and then try to guess about the possibly missing ingredients to a formula for success. I don’t be to jump-start any “merger” talks because I firmly believe that one is virtually impossible given the necessary presence of Tony George but I think that had one been able to “feature” the two rival open-wheel series as little as two years ago into a new never-before-seen series … that the feature could have prospered and started to ascend back to at least the historic high-water attach of its popularity. The cerebrate I KNOW that this would be impossible today is that neither the Amigos nor Tony George – especially Tony George – have the willingness to make the necessary investments required to carry such a new open-wheel series into being. That’s because the additive series I had in object would have necessitated the owners of both open-wheel series continuing their then current levels of investment for at least five more years to act a new American open-wheel series with at least 34 races on the its plan of diverse venues (speedways and road and street courses). 28 cars routinely on its grid and a hit U. S broadcast communicate furnish. Such a series is destined to be a pipe dream because.
